How To Release Held Emails
Mimecast will notify if a certain email has been held if it does not comply with the company policy. This protects us from bad actors that send malicious emails. You can review the emails and release them if you believe these emails have mistakenly been held. To prevent this from happening again, create a ticket. Specify the email address and the policy referenced in the Mimecast email so that it may be added to the appropriate whitelist.
Here is an example email you will get if a message has been held:
Before releasing the held email, please review the email address and the subject line to ensure that the email is legit. If an email is suspicious, you may block it or notify Technology Services.
To release an email, follow these instructions below:
- Click on the Release button on the individual email. You can also release all held emails by clicking on Release all
- A website will appear with the following message if successful
- If a login is prompted, use your Wiley X email address for the credentials
- You can also permit the email address to prevent it from being held again by clicking on Permit instead of release
